Posted July 04, 2018 07:17:00 An average Australian photographer needs about $10,000 to buy their equipment, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS).
The average photographer in the US spends between $13,000 and $17,000, with a handful of photographers making more than $100,000.
The Australian Bureau says that figure is “not surprising”, given the cost of living in the country, which has a population of about 3.8 million.
However, the figure may be slightly less than that if you include the cost to buy a studio, as well as the cost for travel and accommodation.
The ABS is also looking at a range of other costs to consider.
The agency says that while the average Australian can expect to spend around $400 per wedding, for example, the cost per wedding photographer could be higher.
If you’re thinking about booking a wedding, here are some of the most expensive wedding photographers in the world.
